HORSERACE

The Kumbaya Debate

Nobody on this stage seems willing to say, "I am a better choice than the other candidates because..." It's a love-fest.

Hillary: "The folks who are losing in trade, at John rightfully notes..."

Richardson: "Despite the best efforts of all here, the Senate rejected..."

Finally: Dodd says, "I'm the only person here who has proposed a corporate carbon tax."

Hillary: "It's not enough to have an energy plan; we have to enlist the American people... This has to call for a new form of American patriotism."

A big theme is that if you just make something a high enough priority, solutions appear and the situation gets better.
