BARACK OBAMA

Barack Obama's John Kerry Moment

Captain Ed notes that Obama answered eight questions before "stalking out of a press conference."

When John McCain held his press conference on the New York Times' shoddy he-was-in-bed-with-a-lobbyist story, he took thirty-six.

Glass jaw?

We've seen this before, dear readers. We saw this in the Kerry Spot days when the Swift Boat Vets for Truth ads came out. Kerry let his aides do the talking, and did not want to answer questions on them, partially because some of his stories had obvious mistakes or untruths (particularly the seared, seared "Christmas in Cambodia" memory) and because he didn't want to get dragged into dealing with every one of their allegations. So in August 2004, Kerry stopped taking questions from the press. The tone of the coverage adjusted accordingly.
