BARACK OBAMA

Fifteen-Year Sentence for al-Qaeda Sleeper. Feel Safer Yet?

Ali Saleh Kahlah al-Marri is:

• an admitted al-Qaeda sleeper who arrived in the U.S. on September 10, 2001.

• an operative who researched the use of chemical weapons including cyanide, scouted targets, attended al-Qaeda training camps in Afghanistan, and reported to 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheik Mohammad.

• free to leave prison in nine to fifteen years, when he is age 52 to 58, depending on how his sentencing hearing goes on July 30.

The White House calls his case "a victory for the rule of law because he's finally going to jail, convicted of the crime of aiding that terrorist network."

Strange that they say he's "finally going to jail" when he's been behind bars for six years.
