JOHN MCCAIN

No Love For Fiorina, But Some 'Like' For Her

General reaction of the mailbag to today's earlier report: Readers like Carly Fiorina, but not as the next vice president. A lot of people argue she hasn't really been vetted, and that the business press wouldn't give her background the full scrub the way the political press would. (I might argue that if she had scandal fodder in her past, her foes on the HP board might have dug it up.)

Some readers have bad memories of her at HP, and some object to her pay level, severance, and layoffs. (I would note that some argue the merger with Compaq worked, and most of the benefits were clearer after she departed.)
