BARACK OBAMA
It's Not This Bit of Data, It's The Context
Under ordinary circumstances, it’s tough to begrudge a candidate for asking his campaign to prepare for a transition process, planning for victory.
But…
We’ve already seen the alternate seal.
And the original plan to speak at Brandenburg Gate.
And the press has gently rebuked Obama advisers speaking as if their man is already president. Twice.
The New York Times:
Mr. Obama looks supremely confident and at home talking to generals and heads of state, so much so that some viewers may find the pose presumptuous — as if Mr. Obama believes that not only is his official nomination at the Democratic convention in August a mere formality, so is the November election.
So begrudge away.
