HILLARY CLINTON

The Outlook For Hillary, as Gloomy As It Seems

Chances are, a week from today, the Hillary Clinton campaign ends with a spectacular flameout, something on par with the Hindenberg crashing into the Titanic.

We've seen a trend in most states this lengthy primary season - Hillary leads by a wide margin a long way out from primary or caucus day, and the race suddenly tightens in the closing days as Democratic voters really scrutinize their choices.

In fact, we've only seen one great come-from-behind moment in the campaign for Hillary, in New Hampshire.

The polls in Texas: Obama 49, Hillary 45, according to Survey USA; Hillary 46, Obama 45, according to Rasmussen; Obama 50, Hillary 42, according to ARG; both tied at 48 according to Public Policy Polling; and Obama 50, Hillary 46, according to Opinion Research Corp.

A Hilary win could happen, but it's hard to see the big win she really needs.

In Ohio the polls look better for Hillary, but it's still a much closer race than it has been. The last five polls put Hillary up 10, up 4, up 12, up 9, up 8. But looking at polls conducted in January and early February, she was up 23, up 17, up 21.

Yet another liberal columnist is urging her to quit now.

We could be on our way to the ideal scenario for Hillary's paid staffers (or the ones still getting paid) - her performing just well enough in Ohio and Texas to keep fighting, on through Pennsylvania, another couple weeks of paychecks.
