JOHN MCCAIN

Various Media Reporting It's Palin (UPDATE: Fox News Says Palin!)

Unidentified sources are telling the Chicago Tribune and CNBC that Sarah Palin is the pick.

UPDATE: All week here in Denver, it's been one of the recurring questions among the NR folks: "So who would you pick?" I had Palin up pretty high, along with Bobby Jindal (see my Biden debate thought) and my dark horse was Rhode Island Gov. Don Carcieri. (This isn't to say I didn't like the rest — Romney, Pawlenty, Portman, Cantor, Chris Cox, etc. Please don't take this as an invitation to write in, "Jim, here's why McCain should have picked my favorite guy"...)

If it turns out to be Palin, I'll be surprised, as it's probably the first time a nominee has picked the choice I would have.

This line from a Club for Growth release this morning stood out to me, that Palin instructed the state to abandon efforts to build the "Bridge to Nowhere."

Nice way to say, "This ticket isn't what's wrong with the Republican Party; we're the ones who are setting it right."

ANOTHER UPDATE: Carl Cameron: "It looks like a done deal for Sarah Palin... we've got to get back on the phones."

Moments later, Fox News says it is indeed Palin.
