FRED THOMPSON, RUDY GIULIANI, JOHN MCCAIN

Thompson Whacks Away at the Amnesty Pinata

The next question comes from a guy who is not just asking about illegal immigrants in the shadows; he's asking his question FROM THE SHADOWS. I've seen Bond villains with less menacing lighting.

It's a softball to Fred Thompson. "A nation that cannot defend its own borders will not remain a sovereign nation."

Crowd loves it.

Thompson goes to kick Rudy on sanctuary cities, and says that Rudy's lawsuit about the issue was a "frivolous lawsuit."

McCain says he opposed amnesty, and gets some groans from the crowd. Cooper has to interject and tells the crowd, "let him answer." He gives a soft-spoken, lengthy answer saying that he learned that the American people wants the borders secured first - then the other issues relating to illegal immigration have to be resolved.
