BARACK OBAMA

Time Needs To Read The Campaign Spot Before Writing About It

For the second straight day, a mainstream media publication has reported that National Review "demanded" the release of Obama's birth certificate. The post in question — representing my thoughts, not speaking for National Review as a whole, nor National Review Online as an institution — said nothing of the sort; it noted that "Obama could debunk some rumors by releasing his birth certificate," a fairly obvious statement. I did say that the Obama campaign could return the favor for my work debunking the "whitey" tape; how that fits the definition of "demand" is beyond me.

I hope Karen Tumulty of Time magazine read the post in question, and didn't take the Obama campaign's characterization at face value.

Having said that, it is rather satisfying that the Obama campaign finds me a news source reliable enough to cite when debunking the "whitey" tape rumor. Remember folks - NRO's Campaign Spot, the source of campaign news that's fair enough for the Obama campaign!
