BARACK OBAMA, RUDY GIULIANI
Barack Obama Echoes Rudy Giuliani's Preferred Phrase?
Friends of Rudy are more than a little gleeful to see Obama’s refer to “The terrorists’ war on us” instead of “the war on terror” in his speech today.
Just because the President misrepresents our enemies does not mean we do not have them. The terrorists are at war with us. The threat is from violent extremists who are a small minority of the world's 1.3 billion Muslims, but the threat is real. They distort Islam. (There’s a part of me that isn’t 100 percent on board with Rudy’s preferred phrase; ‘war on terror’ declares that we’re on the attack. On the other hand, ‘the terrorists’ war on us’ reminds people that America didn’t look for this fight, and that they picked this fight long before 9/11 – with the first World Trade Center bombing, with the Embassy bombings, with the U.S.S. Cole…)
