BARACK OBAMA, JOHN MCCAIN
Does Anyone Believe That President Obama Will Go Through The Federal Budget 'Line By Line'?
There goes the planetarium vote: McCain mentions that Obama got an earmark for an overhead projector for a planetarium in Chicago.
I'm sure tomorrow we'll hear about this complaint as part of the "Republicans' war on science."
It's thankfully not the bear DNA testing, and I'm all for shining the spotlight on bad pork projects, but sometimes it feels like McCain is way too far into the weeds with this stuff.
Brokaw asks a painfully stupid question about which the highest priority: energy policy, health care policy, and or entitlements. Both candidates artfully dodge it.
Obama repeats the JFK challenge to the country to put on a man on the moon, and says "when the American people say they're going to do something, it gets done." Really? Like the war on poverty?
Obama repeats his pledge to go through the federal budget "line by line." He's never done this in Congress. Does anyone think he would really start doing that as President?
Overall, Obama is running as a fiscal conservative, despite the fact that nothing in his past record indicates he will govern in that manner.
