MIKE HUCKABEE, FRED THOMPSON

A Prophetic Comment in the Pages of National Review

In the latest must-read issue of National Review, Byron York’s cover story on Fred Thompson features a quote from Bill Howell, who is the speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates, after watching Thompson and then Mike Huckabee address the American Legislative Exchange Council back in late July:

“I thought Thompson really blew a good opportunity,” says Howell. “In my mind, Huckabee is right on, has a great delivery, is very articulate – all the things Thompson wasn’t.”

Yesterday, Huckabee said that Howell has signed on to help the Huckabee campaign, and will be trying to pull together support - possibly financial as well as volunteers — in Virginia.
