BARACK OBAMA

Obama: We Haven't Led By Example in Invasions

Obama, speaking in Virginia yesterday:

“We’ve got to send a clear message to Russia and unify our allies,” Obama told a crowd of supporters in Virginia. “They can’t charge into other countries. Of course it helps if we are leading by example on that point.”

That didn't take long, did it? When Russia moved into Georgia, a common theme among liberal bloggers was that the U.S. had no standing to object, and that Georgia had brought this upon itself by being too close to Bush (their way of describing pro-Western governments).

Some of us see some differences between a coalition of democracies invading a dictatorship and a dictator unilaterally invading a democracy.
