HILLARY CLINTON, BARACK OBAMA
What Is the Hillary Campaign's Strategy At This Point?
One of my readers, Scott, raises a few points...
Counting Super Tuesday, Hillary will likely have lost 21 of 29 contests going into March 4.
That's just devastating for her. She's gaining the reputation of loser. [Losing many contests in a row caught up with] Giuliani and Romney. If Hillary does not win TX and OH, she's done.
On the other hand, tonight is good for the GOP. Clinton, with her back against the wall, will make a fight of it with every hardball tactic the Clintons have.. and that's saying something.
That's the card that I think still hasn't been played in this game. On Cam's show, I just joked that Hillary will be calling Obama "the Wahhabist drug-dealer" before the race is over.
Then again, some of Hillary's moves are baffling. She's reportedly not going to Wisconsin until Friday.
Back in the week before South Carolina, she left the Palmetto State to do some campaign events in some Super Tuesday states. I had wondered if that was a mistake; while it wasn't decisive, I don't think it helped her in a state where she lost by a rout. Again, when there's one state voting in a one week period (next week Hawaii also votes), you either commit to it, or you don't. You don't split the time and try to explain a defeat later by saying you only put in half an effort. We'll soon learn if jumping ahead to Texas helped her, but similar moves didn't work for Rudy.
UPDATE: Just got Hillary's schedule. She's not going to Wisconsin until Saturday.
