BARACK OBAMA

Jesse Jackson Fallout Hurting Obama? I Wouldn't Bet On It

Over at Riehl World View, there's a suggestion that Jesse Jackson's comments will hurt Obama under the radar.

Yes, the standard apology was issued. But, so what? In a candid moment, Jackson revealed that he has little, or no respect for the new man from hope, via Chicago. And right now he has to look like a weak poseur as far as many blacks are concerned.

Between this insult and his throwing over his Pastor and his "be a better Father" rhetoric to the black community, at this rate it won't be long before those doubts about his "black" bona fides creep back into the limelight.

He's on the verge of being seen as a sell-out by the very voting block he depended on to win the primary.

Chalk me up as a skeptic — I don't see many African-Americans lessening their enthusiasm for a electing the first African-American president because Jesse Jackson finds him condescending.

Kaus makes the argument that a case can be made that Obama does talk down to African-Americans, but I still don't agree with the particulars of that assessment. Obama talks down to everyone, regardless of skin color. Remember, every time you visit a country where you don't know the language, you embarrass him.
