BARACK OBAMA

Obama: 'America is no longer what it could be, what it once was.'

 Obama:

"America is …, uh, is no longer, uh … what it could be, what it once was. And I say to myself, I don’t want that future for my children."

It seems strange that as he is saying America is no longer what it used to be, someone else is declaring that she's proud of her country for the first time in her adult life. One spouse says we used to be great and have fallen; one spouse says we haven't been great until now.
