Durbin Urges Burris to Resign; Gets Nowhere
Wow. We heard earlier in the day that Sen. Roland Burris was going to offer to not run for a full term in 2010 as penance for his lying under oath about his dealings with Blagojevich. Turns out in today's meeting he didn't even go that far, and now Illinois's senior senator, Dick Durbin, is calling on him to resign.
We've heard from Illinois's new governor and its senior senator. Mr. President, I believe it's your turn.
