Tony Snow, RIP
For the past few weeks, my mother had noticed the absence of Tony Snow on television and asked if I had heard anything about his condition. When a public figure diagnosed with cancer disappears from the spotlight, it's rarely a good sign. And yesterday, our grim fears were confirmed.
Sigh. During the Dubai Ports World controversy, Tony Snow sent an extremely kind, and extremely unnecessary, "nice job" e-mail. Like Mark, I didn't have much interaction with him, and wish I had.
Washington doesn't seem like a town filled to the brim with nice guys. There's something that seems unnecessarily cruel about losing Tony Snow and Tim Russert in the same year.
