The Republican I Support the Least Seems to Be Doing Fine Without Me

In this space, you'll notice a distinct lack of enthusiasm to beat the drum for Louisiana senator David Vitter; I enjoy my Eliot Spitzer jokes too much to look away when a GOP lawmaker is caught running an economic stimulus package out of his bedroom.

Having said that, Democrat Charlie Melancon, who's leaving his House seat to run for Senate, is only getting 36 percent against John David Vitter's 46 percent.
