BARACK OBAMA
Much Closer Than Expected in New Hampshire?
I need to confirm a rumor - did any reader in New Hampshire vote in the past hour or two? And if so, did they see any Obama monitors at their polling place?
If the answer is "no," then it's because I have been informed correctly that Team Obama was worried about the Granite State and put every resource - even their election monitors — into getting those last voters to the polls.
If the answer is "yes," this is another one of those crazy Election Night rumors.
The RealClearPolitics polling average in New Hampshire was Obama ahead by 10.6 percent.
UPDATE: I notice the generally great-for-Obama exit poll numbers floating around showed Obama ahead 53-47 in New Hampshire. But a smaller-than-expected lead wouldn't seem sufficient reason to hit the panic button.
ANOTHER UPDATE: Contradictory information from readers. One says he saw no campaign election observers when he voted, which might appear to confirm the rumor, but a media source in the region says he's hearing "Democratic sweep, Shaheen and both Democratic members of Congress ahead."
