FRED THOMPSON, RON PAUL

If 'Fredsgiving Day' Went Well, We'd Have a Number By Now

The question is starting to reverberate around the net... so how did "Fred's Giving Day" turn out? Right now, all that remains of the fundraising site is a message to the obnoxious Ron Paul supporters who allegedly made fake pledges.

The effort wasn't organized by Thompson's campaign. Still, Ron Paul's wasn't either, and they raked in $4.2 million on November 5.

Among those saying, "so how much did he raise?", Volunteer Voters, HotAir, BlueCollarRepublican. They note that if the number was great, we probably would have heard about it by now.

If Ron Paul's effort turned into a textbook effort of how to manage a successful donor drive, this one may turn into a lesson in what not to do - there wasn't anyplace to track the donations as they came in. And, of course, the date; picking the day before Thanksgiving, the busiest travel day of the year, as the date for a 24 hour fundraising drive seemed... take your pick: counterintuitive, and/or insane.
